RECENT REPUBLICAN SCANDALS BY DATE:
July 24, 2007 - Michael
Flory - Former head of the Michigan Young Republicans - sentenced
to 5 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman
at a Young Republicans convention. He told a judge in northeast
Ohio's Cuyahoga County that his humiliation and self-destruction
should be punishment enough for his felony guilty plea.Judge Peter
Corrigan disagreed.Corrigan sentenced Flory, the 33-year-old longtime
head of the Michigan Federation of Young Republicans, to five years
in prison, the maximum term for the offense."I'm sickened
that he is an attorney," Corrigan
told the victim and a packed courtroom.Flory might not be a lawyer
for long: Michigan suspended his law license upon his July 24 guilty
plea. Now he could face disbarment proceedings.Flory's wife, sitting
on the defendant's side of the courtroom, rolled her eyes, shook
her head and then sobbed as Flory expressed "deep,
profound remorse" for what he did and pleaded for probation
for the sake of his 4-year-old son."My son needs his father," Flory
said.Over and over, Flory referred to himself
pitiably. He lamented that his "stupid choices" destroyed
him politically, ended his career and sullied his political accomplishments.
His status as a registered sex offender would forever bar him
from his son's school athletic events, he told Corrigan
Aug. 31, 2007- Glenn
Murphy Jr, President-Elect of the National Young Republican Federation
and Chairman of Clark County, Indiana Republican Party- resigned
both positions in the wake of a criminal investigation for
alleged criminal deviate conduct-- potentially a class B
felony-- after speaking with a 22-year-old man who claimed
that on July 31, Murphy performed an unwanted sex act on him while
the man slept. In 1998, a 21-year-old male filed a similar report
with Clarksville police claiming Murphy attempted to perform a
sex act on him while he was sleeping. Charges were never filed
in that case. Murphy was thought to be a rising star in the Indiana
and national Republican Party.

Aug. 28, 2007 - Sen.
Larry Craig R- Idaho, conservative
three-term Senator who voted against
gay marriage and opposes special protections for gay and lesbian
crime victims, pleaded guilty this summer to misdemeanor charges
stemming from complaints of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis-St.
Paul Airport men's room after he apparently sought some same-stall
action from a plainclothes cop. police
report
The arrest at a Minnesota airport
prompted Craig to plead guilty to disorderly conduct earlier
this month. His June 11 encounter with the officer was similar
to an incident in a men's room in a Washington, D.C., rail station
described by a Washington-area man to the Idaho Statesman, his
home state newspaper of record,. In
that case, the man said he and Craig had sexual contact. In an
interview on May 14, Craig told the Idaho Statesman, he'd never
engaged in sex with a man or solicited sex with a man. The Craig
interview was the culmination of a Statesman investigation that
began after a blogger accused Craig of homosexual sex in October.
Over five months, the Statesman examined rumors about Craig dating
to his college days and his 1982 pre-emptive denial that he had
sex with underage congressional pages.
"The most serious finding by the Statesman
was the report by a professional man with close ties to Republican
officials. The 40-year-old man reported having oral sex with
Craig at Washington's Union Station, probably in 2004. The Statesman
also spoke with a man who said Craig made a sexual advance toward
him at the University of Idaho in 1967 and a man who said Craig
'cruised' him for sex in 1994 at the REI store in Boise. The
Statesman also explored dozens of allegations that proved untrue,
unclear or unverifiable.
"Craig, 62, was elected to Congress
in 1980. Should he win re-election in 2008 and complete his term,
he would be the longest-serving Idahoan ever in Congress. His
record includes a series of votes against gay rights and his
support of a 2006 amendment to the Idaho Constitution that bars
gay marriage and civil unions."

Aug. 8, 2007 - Guiliani: Rudy’s
Titanic is sinking fast with his wife and their (lack of) moral
values) steering it into the depths of anonymity. His new
wife, Judith participated in dog killing for profit and between
them, they've racked up 5 marriages (3 each). Can you say "Family
Values?". Her step-children hate her and she carries
a list in her bag of people she wants fired from the campaign.
She needs a separate airplane seat for her Louis Vitton handbag. 4
bodyguards before she even married him. His eye wandering
again as she’s told not to accompany him on the campaign
trail. Wonder if a Private Detective will shoot photos of Rudy
in the sack with a Guiliani campaign intern who’s about
his daughter’s age... And sells the photos to the tabloids?
Of course, there is help with scuttling Rudy's ship from his children, one of
whom has come out as a supporter of Barrack Obama and considers herself a liberal
(OOH. dirty word, Dad?). She deleted her entry on MySpace. Could
it be that dear old Dad threatened her education funds? http://www.guardian.co.uk/uselections08/rudygiuliani/story/0,,2143807,00.html

16 year old says Congressman Mark Foley sent
him 'sick' emails Complete Set of E-mails Here:
www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Congressman_accused_of_sending_sick_emails_0928.html
A
16-year-old male congressional page concerned about the appropriateness
of an e-mail exchange with a congressman alerted Capitol Hill staffers
to the communication. Congressman Mark Foley's office says the
e-mails were entirely appropriate and that their release is part
of a smear campaign by his opponent. In the series of e-mails,
obtained by ABC News, between the page and Rep. Foley (R-FL), Foley
asks the page how old he is, what he wants for his birthday and
requests a photo of him.The concerned page
alerted congressional staffers to the e-mails. In one e-mail, the
page writes to a staffer, "Maybe it is
just me being paranoid, but seriously. This freaked me out."
The page worked for Rep. Rodney Alexander (news, bio, voting record),
R-La., who said Friday that when he learned of the e-mail exchanges
10 to 11 months ago, he called the teen's parents. Alexander told
the Ruston Daily Leader, "We also notified the House leadership
that there might be a potential problem," a reference to the
House's Republican leaders. – ABC News
At the Capitol, Republicans
spent the night trying to explain how this could have happened on
their watch. Among the explanations during the night::
•
The congressional
sponsor of the page, Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-La., said he was asked
by the youth's parents not to pursue the matter, so he dropped it.
• Alexander
said that before deciding to end his involvement, he passed on what
he knew to the chairman of the House Republican campaign organization,
Rep. Thomas Reynolds, R-N.Y. Reynolds' spokesman, Carl Forti, said
the campaign chairman also took no action in deference to the parents'
wishes.
• Rep. John Shimkus, R-Ill., chairman of the Page Board that
oversees the congressional work-study program for high schoolers,
said he did investigate but Foley falsely assured him he was only
mentoring the boy. Pages are high school students who attend classes
under congressional supervision and work as messengers.
• The spokesman
for Speaker Dennis Hastert, Ron Bonjean, said the top House Republican
had not known about the allegations. Shimkus said he learned about
them in late 2005
Neal Horsley: an extreme right-winger who
outed himself on Hannity and Colmes. When Alan Colmes asked him "You had sex with
animals" Horsley replied: "Absolutely. I was a fool.
When you grow up on a farm in Georgia, your first girlfriend
is a mule."
U.S. Senate candidate Jack Ryan dropped out of the 2004 race because
of revelations from his ex-wife, Jeri Ryan. She alleges, in unsealed
court documents, that he tried to have her perform various explicit
acts in sex clubs around the world, some of them with BDSM leanings.

Henry Hyde: Illinois Rep. who headed the House Judiciary Committee
decided "whether the adulterous affair President Clinton carried
on with a White House intern, and his efforts to keep it hidden,
should be referred to the House of Representatives for impeachment
proceedings." But apparently Henry had conducted a little
business of his own. Fred Snodgrass "says Hyde carried on
a five-year sexual relationship with his then-wife, Cherie, that
shattered his family. Hyde admitted to Salon Wednesday that he
had been involved with Cherie Snodgrass, and that the relationship
ended after Hyde's wife found out about it."

Mike Hintz: the man Bush introduced (on
10/4/04) to promote his tax plan; "It's a special day for Mike and Sharla, not because
they're with the President or with Chairman Grassley, but because
it's their 13th wedding anniversary. (Applause.)" http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/10/2004100...
(but what a difference a month makes)"A Des Moines youth pastor
is charged with sexual exploitation by a counselor. Rev. Mike Hintz
was fired from the First Assembly of God Church, located at 2725
Merle Hay Road, on Oct. 30. Hintz was the youth pastor there for
three years. Police said he started an affair with a 17-year-old
woman in the church youth group this spring. Church officials fired
Hintz immediately."
